We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data fairly and lawfully.  This policy sets out what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights.

Information we collect

We collect and process the following categories of personal data:

    •    Identity and contact information – your name, postal address, email address and telephone number, provided when you place an order or contact us.

    •    Order details – details of the items you purchase, shipping address and any notes you provide.

    •    Technical data – information collected automatically when you browse our site, such as your IP address, browser type, device information and cookie data (see the Cookies section below).

We do not collect or store your payment card details ourselves.  Payments on our site are processed securely by Wix Payments.  For POA items, you may choose to pay by bank transfer; in that case we will share our bank details with you but we do not retain your banking information.

We do not knowingly collect personal data about children.  If you are under eighteen, please obtain parental consent before providing any personal information.

How we collect information

We obtain personal data directly from you when you:

    •    Purchase a product on our website or by private arrangement;

    •    Fill out a contact or enquiry form;

    •    Communicate with us by email or other means; or

    •    Browse our website (through the use of cookies and similar technologies).

How we use your information

We only use your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so.  The purposes for which we use your data include:

    •    Fulfilling your orders – to process payments, arrange shipping, contact you about your order, and provide customer service.  The lawful basis is to perform a contract with you.

    •    Communications – to respond to your enquiries and provide information you request.  The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating our business and keeping you informed.

    •    Legal compliance and fraud prevention – to comply with legal obligations, respond to requests from authorities, and to detect and prevent fraud and other illegal activities.  The lawful bases are compliance with a legal obligation and our legitimate interests.

    •    Improving our website and services – to monitor performance, analyse how our site is used and maintain security.  The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running and improving our business.

We do not currently use your data for marketing communications or newsletters.  If we decide to do so in the future, we will obtain your explicit consent before sending any promotional emails.

Sharing your information

We will only share your personal data with:

    •    Service providers who help us operate our website and fulfil your orders, such as Wix (website platform), Wix Payments (payment processing), shipping and logistics partners, fraud‑prevention providers (e.g. Forter), IT support and professional advisers.  These third parties process your data only under our instructions and must keep it secure.

    •    Government authorities or law enforcement where required by law or to protect our rights, for example to comply with anti‑money‑laundering requirements or a court order.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure it functions correctly, to keep your session secure, and to help us understand how the site is used.  Cookies are small text files placed on your device.  We use the following categories of cookies:

    2.    Fraud‑prevention cookies – We use forterToken to help detect and prevent fraudulent transactions.  This cookie links technical information about your browser and device to your order and does not store payment card details.

    3.    Third‑party cookies (Google) – Cookies such as NID and __Secure‑ENID may be set by Google services (e.g. reCAPTCHA) used for security and performance.  These cookies may also be used by Google for analytics or advertising purposes; for more information, please refer to Google’s own privacy notices.

We do not use cookies for personalised advertising.  You can manage cookies through your browser settings.  However, blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of our website and may prevent you from completing a purchase.

Data retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above, including satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.  In general, we retain order information for six years after your purchase to comply with tax and legal obligations.  When data is no longer needed, it will be securely deleted or anonymised.

International data transfers

Because we sell and ship internationally and use global service providers, your personal data may be transferred outside the United Kingdom.  Where we transfer data to a country that does not have an adequacy decision from the UK government, we ensure that appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place to protect your information.

Your rights

Under data protection law you have rights including:

    •    Access – to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;

    •    Rectification – to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;

    •    Erasure – to request deletion of your data when it is no longer needed (this is sometimes called the “right to be forgotten”);

    •    Restriction – to ask us to suspend processing of your data in certain circumstances;

    •    Objection – to object to our processing of your data based on legitimate interests;

    •    Withdrawal of consent – where we rely on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights please contact us at info@teoltd.com.  We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.  You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe that we are not processing your data lawfully.
