Terms & Conditions

About these terms

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which TEO – The Exquisite Objects (“we”, “us”, “our”) supplies antiques, vintage and contemporary design pieces, and any future TEO‑designed items, through our website or by private arrangement.  Please read them carefully before placing an order.  By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

TEO – The Exquisite Objects is the trading name of The Exquisite Objects Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16306412).  Our registered office is C/O Richard Riley & Associates, 22 Hampden House, Monument Business Park, Chalgrove, Oxfordshire, England OX44 7RW.  Our contact email is info@teoltd.com.

Our pieces

We curate a selection of antique, mid‑century and contemporary objects, including one‑of‑a‑kind pieces and limited editions.  Unless stated otherwise, each item is unique and only one is available.  In the future we may introduce TEO‑designed items produced to order; these will be clearly indicated on the product page.

We describe and photograph each piece as accurately as possible.  However, antiques and vintage items often show patina, signs of wear and natural imperfections, which form part of their character and are not faults.  All measurements are approximate, and colours may vary depending on screen settings.  You acknowledge that such variations are to be expected and do not give rise to a right to reject the item.

All rights, including copyright, in our website and its contents (text, images and designs) belong to or are licensed to The Exquisite Objects Ltd.  You may view and print pages for your personal, non‑commercial use only.  You may not copy, reproduce, modify or distribute any part of this site or its contents without our prior written consent.

Prices and payment

Prices are stated in Pounds Sterling (£) and do not include shipping costs.  We are not currently VAT‑registered, so no VAT is charged.  For items with a published price, you can pay the full price (excluding the shipping costs) at the time of ordering via Wix Payments (which accepts major debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay), or, by enquiring, via separate payment instructions (as follows for POA items).  For items marked as “Price on application” (POA), we will provide a quotation and payment instructions separately; such orders may be completed by bank transfer or other agreed method.

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time.  Any change will be confirmed to you before your order is accepted.  If, due to an error, a price is incorrectly displayed, we are not obliged to supply the item at that price.

When you place an order you will receive an order confirmation email.  Please keep this email; if you do not receive it, contact us at info@teoltd.com so we can check that your order has been received.

Shipping and delivery

Shipping is quoted separately based on the size, weight, fragility and value of the item and the delivery address.  After you place an order we will email you a shipping quotation, usually within a few days.  We will dispatch your item once the shipping cost has been agreed and paid.  Any customs duties, import taxes or local charges are your responsibility.

You may choose to arrange your own collection and shipping of the item.  If you do so, you are responsible for all aspects of transportation, including insurance and customs clearance, and you waive any right to return the item unless it arrives not as described.  Risk in the item passes to you when the item is collected by your carrier or delivered to your nominated address.

We will use reasonable efforts to deliver items within the estimated time frame, but delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control.  We will keep you informed of any significant delay.

Cancellation rights

You may cancel your order within seven (7) days of placing it by emailing info@teoltd.com.  This right does not apply to items that are made‑to‑order or customised to your specifications.  Once the item has been dispatched, cancellations are treated as returns (see below).  Your statutory rights, including the right to cancel within the statutory “cooling‑off” period for distance sales, are not affected.

For any future TEO‑designed pieces that are produced to order, once production has begun no cancellation will be possible and any deposit paid may be non‑refundable.  We will inform you of any such terms when you place your order.

Returns and refunds

Because our pieces are unique and often antique, we do not accept returns for a change of mind.  If the item arrives damaged or materially not as described, you must notify us by email within three (3) days of receipt and provide photographs showing the damage.  We will review each case carefully and may offer to repair the item, replace it with a similar piece (if available) or refund the purchase price and any standard delivery charges.  Where we agree to a refund, we will arrange return shipping; if you return an item without our prior agreement, you are responsible for the shipping costs.

If we agree to accept a return for a reason other than damage or fault, return shipping costs are your responsibility and any refund excludes the original shipping cost.  Items must be returned in the same condition in which they were delivered, with appropriate packaging and insurance.  You remain responsible for the item until it reaches us. Refunds are issued only after inspection of the items and verification that they were returned to us in the same condition they were sold.

Liability and security

We strive to ensure that our website is free from viruses and defects, and that your data is handled securely.  However, we cannot guarantee that use of this site will be uninterrupted or error‑free.  We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials or your computer equipment.  Our total liability in respect of any order is limited to the amount you have paid for the item in question.

Governing law

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.  The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
